This type of trimmer can last for several months, depending on how often you edge your lawn. This type of edger does not require as much exertion as the basic model because it is electric.
You might also consider using a gas powered lawn edger. The drawback of this type of tool is that it can be much noisier to operate than an electric trimmer. In addition, a gasoline powered edger can also be heavier to operate as well. The main advantage to using this type of edger is that you do not have to worry about dragging around a cord or tripping over a cord.
With a gas powered edger you do not have to worry about being limited as to where you can trim, which can be a great advantage if you have a large yard or if you need to tidy up an area where you may not have a ready power supply. Gas powered lawn edger tools also tend to offer more power over electric powered trimmers as well. This can be a great advantage if you have a lawn that has a lot of overgrown brush and weeds and you need the additional power to cut through all of it.
